ShaPlus Bandwidth Meter is the perfect tool for those users who must keep track of every byte of network bandwidth, whether it's Internet use or any of your system's connections. A neat little feature let us change the meter's transparency right from the interface. It showed our bandwidth use for Now, or the current session Today and This Month.

Their charge per device, not per interface (like Solarwinds Orion) and their application works in a much more "logical" context, i.e. That said, I use Intermapper for "real-time" network monitoring, and I use their flows tool when I need to dig deeper into the behavior on a certain link/circuit. Most of the actual network engineers I know use Cacti for looking at trends and utilization of links. Cacti fantastic for tracking bandwidth trends over the long term.
